"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

For those of you that remember, I had 2 lambs (male and female) that the mother rejected and I had to bottle feed them. Well, they were very spoiled. With having so many males this year, I knew that I couldn't keep any and one of the bottle fed babies is a male. I was having emotional issues knowing that I would have to give him away. The reason that I have to give him away is because I have to find another male to bring in for breeding purposes. You can't continue to use the same male year after year after year without having birthing issues. And with this bottle fed lamb, I have learned that my bottle fed babies grew slower than the lambs that the mom fed. Of course the bottle feds didn't get all of the healthy vitamins and nutrients from the mom like the others. The others are younger than my spoiled baby but are bigger compared to him. So, the time is winding down because in a few months, it's processing time. But I was still dealing with what to do with my boy. I didn't want to give him to a person who was going to slaughter him. Well, as karma would have it, a nice lady contacted me and was looking for sheep. I asked her to call me so that we could talk about sheep and what I had. After many questions, I found out that she and her family have a mobile petting zoo. From talking to her it appears that she loves animals and cares for them the same as I do. (Still researching this petting zoo to make sure that it is legit, with no complaints and animals are treated and cared for well). I told her that I would have the perfect lamb for her. I explained that he was bottle fed, spoiled and is not afraid of people. I have taken this lamb with me to vacation bible school for show and tell, the feed store and he has rode with me many times in the truck. So, I sent her pics of my baby and she wants to buy him for her petting zoo. So, if she checks out, I will be selling my baby to a petting zoo. I guess I'm ok with that. I may change my mind before then. Not sure. I just don't want to give him to someone that will slaughter him. I couldn't deal with that.

This is my spoiled baby.

If everything checks out, just think of how excited the kids will be to pet him!! What's his name? So many kids could be introduced to something they have no knowledge of.

What type of birds do you have? Chickens, guineas, turkeys?

Headaches! I tried once-only once- to go without coffee for one day. No way. I'm not doing that again.
I'll pass and keep my coffee then. I am stocked up now. Last week I had a Brookshire Brother's ad that had Community Coffee 12oz for $0.88. I bought out Walmart and went to Brookshire Brother's to get more just to find out it was a miss printed ad and is really $3.88. Well at least I had the Walmart stock!

I was about to panic!!! I thought I missed out. I only drink Community.
Come to think of it - I have half a bag left. I better put that on my shopping list so I don't forget. That would be VERY bad.

WOW...I am so far behind it isn't even funny.  I tried to catch up last night and this morning, but every time I comment on something, it sends me to the end of all the posts and then I have to try and remember where I was.   :barnie    There's probably something I'm doing wrong (there usually is) but I haven't figured it out yet.  :/

I think everyone's acts of kindness are wonderful!  :bow    The smallest of things can start a wonderful "chain reaction" of good deeds.

Have a great day all!!!   Welcome back Jeff!!   Seen any guineas lately?

Sorry that you are having trouble posting. Don't stay away so long.

LOL @ seen any guineas lately?

Speaking of guineas, that's the latest Terri?

Don't laugh...Is there any way to try to get all the chickens laying at the same time? I only ask, because we get the mares on a similar schedule by being under lights together. Because, right now I have one that lays around 11am ish and one that lays in the later afternoon and one that lays every other day or so.

Also, their eggs seem small right now. Is it because they just started laying? Will they get bigger? My golden laced wyandotte, my buff brahma, and I'm still trying to figure out who the third one is, maybe my black australorp. The eggs all seem small. Is there something I can do?

Thanks for your help. I can't believe I'm fussing about egg size!!

This is what I do when I get behind: Have the window that you are reading from up, when you want to comment on something go up to the page number, right click on it and click on open in new tab. Post your comment there and when it takes you to the end close it out and continue reading your first page.

I hope that things check out. I didn't name him because I knew that I couldn't keep him. Naming him would have been difficult when the day came. I have to make sure that his living quarters are not small. He has to be able to roam free and graze as he is used to doing. He will not do well confined.
