"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Quick good afternoon! Our internet's been down at work until just a short while ago - plus it's been a typical busy Monday morning.

No sign of the guinea so I'm not sure if she's still on a nest somewhere or the coyotes got her - I hope not - they defoliated the soybeans this weekend so will be harvesting soon, but still won't get close enough to that tree to harm her if she's still on the nest.

I'm going to try & candle the five peacock eggs this weekend & see if I find anything. I suspect they are not fertile & so no use wasting time (not to mention rotten eggs exploding)! in the bator if they are.

OK back to work!

Happy Monday, La-yers peeps LOL

Heck I figured kuntrygirl started mixin that wine again and shared. It is spooky, I haven't seen this thread this quite since I started.

Had a great weekend spent with my favorite 3. Spent 8 1/2 hrs Saturday smoking one of those pork roasts. Heavenly! Made an awesome gluten free sourdough bread. Its the most "normal" bread I have had in a year. Bring a self titled "STARCH-I-TARIAN" I cannot say how exciting that is.....and how much work it was to get there.

The girls are completely enjoying there FF and today I saw my Silkie lay an egg :)

Just a question. My pellets got soaked. Just a day's worth. Before I could dump the mush, the girls gobbled it down like their favorite treat. Today when I put out their pellets I watered them down and again they gobbled it. Then I thought that FF is basically pellets, water and ACV. Would there be any problem with continuing to wet their pellets and even put a bit of ACV in it each day even if it doesn't ferment?

Well so 2 of my chickens just got loose on me. I went to shut everyone up for the night and when I first saw the pen empty I really thought they were goners. I found Thelma about 10 feet completely saturated in slobber from top to bottom like a soaked feather duster. The dog I guess decided that she was going to give Thelma a good tongue washing. Poor soggy girl was otherwise just fine. Parker,I had to go through a tangle of thorns to catch. Little hussy liked to keep just a few feet away. I have quite a few more scratches than I did earlier, but I'm glad they are okay.

It would be the same as adding acv to the water supply. No harm.

My dogs like to groom my chickens as well. You should have seen it the first day I had my rooster, he was already older and didn't take kindly to dogs. He soon got over it when he figured out that that was all the dog was doing. You may want to give Thelma a bath, dog slobber doesn't smell too good.
