"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

My watch dog standing on top of the heater to help warm broody and chicks.

Broody and chicks found in a puddle of water. The water was cold and she was trying to warm them as best as she could. I warmed up the room to 75 and the moving air helped them to dry off a little. They are now active and preening themselves.

I put them in the travel trailer for easy clean up and when the weather calms down a little I will open the door and let them decide when it is time to leave. I hope her chicks will be as good of a broody as she is.
Ahhhh...They've gotten big fast! I had forgotten how quickly they grow. Glad everyone is warming up and happy. What breed is your rooster again?

He is a Silkie barnyard mix. The friend I got him from only had Silkie and Silkie mixes. He was one of the very few that she has hatched that had feathers. It slowed down to a one direction rain so I opened the door. They all decided to go out after they mostly dried off. I grew up in Fl so I am used to heavy storms but this tornado thing scares me and I don't take chances when the weather starts swirling around. I think we are most of the way threw it but it is heading your way. High winds, heavy rains, flash flooding, and if it is still as strong tornado or tornado like rain/wind mix. Lasted about 4 hours of heavy weather.

Glad they're doing well!

I knew you had said before what he was, my brain is not running at full speed with the 8 year old sick. Matthew was up ALL NIGHT!!! Finally around 3 am I let him lay on the sofa and watch tv. I'm not proud. I think

the worst of it is over. He's being that "annoying sick" now, he feels just well enough to keep calling MOOMMMM and asking to eat things like goldfish. Uhhhh.....NO...starting with soup and working from there!
My husband drove up to Antlers Oklahoma early this morning. He said he didn't get out of rain until Shreveport. Great....Sick kid, Halloween, business to run, new horse and add rain and mud to mix...I see a fun few days ahead.

) I'm trying to work and he wants to eat EVERYTHING!!! Not happening! Starting with soup...He still has fever, so I don't think he'll be able to go to school tomorrow. AGGHHHHH!!!!! Oh well, it's second grade, not the end of the world.

With that kind of weekend I think you need to talk to Kuntrygirl about getting a bottle of what ever she is making this time.

Kuntrygirl has been MIA. Hope all is well with her. I hope I can fit a glass of wine in tomorrow night. I'm worried that I might

. Fingers crossed that I don't get this. I've talked to several moms from school, all different ages and buildings and it's all over school. There's a school mass on Friday for All Saints Day. That should finish spreading the crud around to those that don't have it yet. TONS of hand washing, and if God wanted me to clean the house, he could have sent a gentler message!!! Nothing like the flu bug to send someone cleaning and disinfecting!!
