"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Omg!
Were vermin hunting this evening. New coop has already brought 2 coons and 'somethin'else...
Dogs on her toes :)
A little while ago my granddaughter and I heard the dog barking at the BBQ pit which usually means possum. We opened the back door and went through the back porch. Before we knew it that big angry possum ran through the back porch and back door into the kitchen. I set up a corral and tried to chase it out the door with a broom but needed to get closer. No, no I didn't want to get closer. So I called my neighbor who stood on the sofa and got it to run back out. Yea for great neighbors.

*EDIT* I hope the fact that there have not been many varmints stays that way. It would be even better if there were NO snakes also. THankfully they aren't an issue this time of year. I agree. I would take a possum over a snake anyday. Well wild snake. I have a pet one.

Does anyone know where to get the gasket/seal for canning jars with the clasps? I got a ton of them at a yard sale from pint to gallon in perfect condition for $0.50 each but they need the seal.

Yeah they're still out and about, I bout stepped on a cottonmouth just at dusk the other night he got away before I could get back around to him with a shillelagh pole, he wasn't slow about it either.

Huh. I never see snakes this time of year. Well at least there aren't as many plaguing my coop. This spring there were so many of them! More then I have seen in a long time.
Yeah they will start waning some now that is cooling down some but just about a week ago I had to shoo my king snake back towards the coop she was headed to the woods, the fat rats are in the chicken house not out in the woods those are poor rats LOL

Rearranging the coops and the compost pile having New meatie chick used bedding has brought back our evil chicken beheader coon! Oh ya and mice appeared! Well, one but if I saw one I assume a dozen are around.
Traps went out for mice.
Last night we saw her heading right for the door of the coop! (need a latch now :/)

1st in tact arrow returned-by the dead be-header .
