Good morning. It is a great morning. Inside temps were 64 degrees. NICE. I didn't bother turning on the heater. I just bundled up with a sweater inside. No need wasting heat to warm up. Duck and sausage gumbo sounds great!Good morning La-yers! Kind of chilly here too but worse is coming – we’re supposed to have highs in the 50s by Sunday. Good gumbo weather! I think duck and sausage this time!
What’s everybody doing for Thanksgiving? We’re having ham and brisket. Broccoli with hollandaise sauce & crushed Ritz cracker crumbs on top, mixed green salad, rum carrots, dressing, deviled eggs, phyllo pastry w/spinach & artichokes, rolls, desserts will be pies-pecan, mince, lemon chiffon
I will be going over Mrs Magoo's by then to trade her some Hollands for some Beltsville and getting some Narragansett eggs to hatch, so let's plan a nice toad trip, Linda?
Will someone explain to me how this is a good idea. A 13yr old boy gets suspended from school. So his mom locks him outside on this cold morning. Light jacket and shorts. Then leaves for the day. That's part of his punishment. She told him the police can't come in the backyard and NOT to go to his grandmas down the street. And I thought it was bad this summer when this lady did stuff like this.
Its COLD!! Brrr!!!!! Layers and layers of clothes this morning.
The US and Afghanistan are going to be voting on a draft of an agreement..........which includes keeping soldiers in Afghanistan until 2024. Somewhere between 7,000 and 15,000 soldiers. ((sigh))

Wow, Terri. We have turkey, rice and gravy, sweet potato praline casserole, green beans Madeline, homemade bread, pies (key lime, pecan, pumpkin). I do the bread and pie. For the last two years they bought the turkey injected. Ugggg hate it. That injection tastes awful. We had a tradition that I would make a huge pot of gumbo from the turkey carcass and deer sausage for Christmas Eve, but the last two years it was ruined from the injection gunk in the turkey carcass. So I requested (by word and written) NO injected turkey or no gumbo. JSGood morning La-yers! I am so sorry! Brinsea came through beautifully for us though. Jim called & talked to them and for $10 they sent enough parts to completely rebuild the “rocker” – it’s practically a new unit again! One thing Jim noticed was it was showing wear on some parts so he greased it with silicone grease – we probably should’ve been doing that all along. One of these days I’ll learn to actually read the directions for new things. Also, they shipped it the same day he talked to them so it was up & running by the time my eggs got here. It’s running along great, as always maintaining perfect temps & I had to add a little water to it yesterday. The only thing he'll learn is what an awful parent is and how to NOT punish his kid. Take the T.V., X-box, WiFi cell phone and everything else, but don't take the very roof from your kids head in WINTER.![]()
Terri, I think ya jinxed me. My Brinsea crapped out also. I am pretty sure I just lost about 10 eggs. I do not know if it has to do with losing those legbars the 2nd time because the eggs from my frizzle due with those hatched, as did the ones due a week later but they were in a different row but it seems kind of coincidental.![]()
