"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Slinkie is adorable! Reminds me, oh yeah? Any of you remember the puppy I ranted about my sister-in-law got in the parvo hot zone seemed things up hopeless for? I forgot to say but it turns out even though she got ticked off at me my words reached her. She took the "allowed" shoes away immediately and took much more caution with Jubilee until she was fully vet vaccinated. Slinkie reminds me of Jubilee. Goes to show that sometimes speaking up can have good results, even if it ticks someone off for a minute.

Though whether of not she will survive continuously trying to bite the cat's tail is a completely 'nother topic. lol

I remember you posting your concerns about that puppy. I am glad that she made some changes. Maybe the puppy will outgrow the cattail issue, lol.

That soap is just beautiful! I looks good enough to eat.

When you send me my soap, just package up Slinkie too!!!!!!
Thank you, and I don't think my daughter would approve

He really does remind us of the dog off of Toy Story and he kind of looks like a toy slinky when he dances around.

I went to the High School football final playoffs in NO, my grandson is on the UHigh team. They were undefeated for the year and took a hard loss at the playoffs. It was sad, but the coach imprinted them about the honor of making it to the finals, so the kids took it better than the parents and grandparents. Lol. This was my first time away overnight since I only had 3 young pullets. Now I have 3 hens, 2 pullets and 2 rabbits. All I could think of was Julie's nightmare. Of course this was only overnight and not nearly as many animals and tasks, and as long as they are safely locked up they really can survive one night. My 88 year old mom was to be the keeper. I gave the bunnies enough hay, pellets and water that she really didn't have to do anything with them. I raked the path to the coops so she would be on even ground. Cleaned the coops and put in plenty of food and water. I adjusted the coop locks and greased them so she could easily move them. (Easier for the raccoons and possums, too?). We did two practice runs. Gave her a head flashlight so she wouldn't have to hold one. All she had to do without fail was to lock the coops in the evening. The extra would be to open them in the morning. She called me in NO that she couldn't do one lock, but it was a two lock coop, so I literally prayed that one lock would be enough. They were fine when I got home. I went out and held and petted them like a long lost cousin. They were happy to see me (you think?). The dogs were twirling in delight upon my return. One dog needed medicine 2 times which I put into pill pockets in zip locks and labeled. The cat didn't get eye medicine, but is almost healed. Whew. I'm not sure one overnight is worth it. Well, yes it is when it's your grand kids. Anything to support my grand kids, but travel can't be a passion for animal lovers. Incompatible. Lol

I was wondering why you hadn't been on line. Glad everything went fine. When we go on vacation I rent pet friendly homes or hotels. My Pom and my cat that passed a while back always came with us. I'm blessed with a neighbor that takes care of the rest. We take care of hers when they go on vacation. Better luck next time on the football. Pam

Is it the tail or what comes out under the tail. Dogs love what I call cat truffles!!

Not the greatest picture, but......I took a quick one the other day for my sis. The cutter has some cosmetic flaws, but works effectively like the cutters that I have seen for sale at about $160.00. This one cost about half that. But making something yourself adds that sense of satisfaction. I just can't get over how easy it is to cut a whole loaf all in one swoop :D You should keep the FO for just a little bit at least. I bet you will have someone that will want a floral scented soap. If you don't end up using it I would be happy to bear the burden of taking it off your hands :D I hope I don't get like some of my soaping acquaintances. They call themselves FO junkies/wh*res. Lol! I wonder if it will edit if you just type in whore. Hmm.....I may need to get some sleep if I am going to handle these kids by myself tomorrow :fl
Great job!!! Thats a great looking cutter!

Here are a few pictures of the babies. They are getting so big now!

I am quite amused by the up turn in the tail feathers on this one combined with the fluffy head

Its a cutie!

One of the Splash Silkies and the black/smooth-Cochin/Silkie mix. Fluffy heads all around.

The little Roo. We are calling him "Jazzy" He has a fair amount of Sass and has some pretty funny antics.

I am going to try to get some good pics of just the Silkies on a sunny day(if we can get one!) and post them in an album or another thread.......since there are some people here who don't like them! Lol!

Wow, Jazzy looks a lot like a little cockerel I sold! I should get a picture of one of my mixes I'm raising up. Jackdaw is turning into a lovely bird.

Started in Georgia about 300 years ago, but there is indication they came south along the coast to have been on the continent 350 years. Arriving between 1650-1675. I have a family history. My family left Georgia about 200 years ago, thou Alabama & Louisiana then up to Arkansas, then Kansas, then on North. We were witness to the trail of tears. Neighbors to the Civilized Tribes of Georga. I have 1 famous ansester that was one of General E Lee's Generals, ether a brigadier or lieut. Gen., I can not rember his name, it started with an F if I remember right. I need to ask my brother, he has been researching our family.

I'm 67, not afraid to move and start over, for some reason the only men that are not "afraid" of me are southerners. When men find out I can hunt, field dress and processes a dear, make a snare, can fish, make a fire in the rain, and have a few other skills their man hood is threatened. {I do not have to have a man to be happy, I'm lucky. It would be nice. So the old farts of Louisiana are safe.}

I do not know why but southern seem men actually like it. Maybe holding down the fort while they are gone. When I move I need to be able to have my garden, chickens, maybe a few goats. A place where can hunt and fish near my new home. I also want sweet meat dear. Not ones living on pine needles an sour brush, but sweet brush, and other sweet browsing. I used to hunt only one area, because the sweet venison. Bottom land with an abandoned apple orchard.

I really need to come home. Arizona is dry, oven hot, tarrable fishing and hunting close to home. Arizona has it all, but you have to travel a lot. I just do not belong here. Only friends are BYC, nothing in common with my neighbors.

Wild boar is something else I like to hunt, and prepared correctly, not to remove the wild taste but tame it, (what goes in make a difference), then slow cooked with the right rub. You have to know were the beast came from, handle each one differently. I'm sure I will find people there to help me to learn locale boar, and rabbit. There Beasties I've never had I would love to try, squirrel is one of them. Don't get me started on crawfish, and the verity of fish available.
