"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

We tend to get some tremendous wasp nests. They seem to almost pop up overnight in the horses run-in sheds. I don't find as many in the barn anymore. I always have several bottles of wasp and hornet spray handy. :pop I'm sure I provide the neighbors with an entertaining show when I dispatch the nest. Now that Horn Dog Harry is gone, they have to get it where they can.

I get way too many wasps around here. They are aggressive and chase me. I have gotten stung for the last few summers, always on my arm or hand and it swells up 3x. I also keep wasp spray cans all around.

We LOVE natural, raw honey! We only buy local, raw honey. My husband loves it in his coffee. We go through quite a lot of it. I gave my daughter honey for a sore throat once. Now she thinks it's the "cure all". Anytime she feels bad she's begging for a spoonful of honey.

Its good for allergys. If allergic eat raw local honey and chew the comb. It helps i Know people that have done it and swear it works. Pam

I don't know how this works but I learned it from the beekeeper that taught me. Emu oil takes the sting out. you can find it at health food stores or on line.Pam

Angelicisi bees are attracted to dark colors so don't where black by your bees.Once you get stung they put off chemicals that tell our their buddies to sting you too. If you need to be in the area burn something so they smell the smoke. that makes them fill up with honey in case they have to bug out. They don't sting when this happenes. Pam

Strong body oder is another thing that attracts bees. It very by individual.

I've been stung 3 times, 1. A bee crawled into my hair, the bee paniced, 2. One crawled into my ear, i paniced. 3. I was standing next to my hive, talking to a friend, a bee had landed on my hand, I did not know it, I put my other hand on top.... Crushed it. The bee in my ear... I noticed the next day I could hear better out of that ear. Go figure. I wonder if there is something to bee stings and arthritis?

oh, please, I am not violent. I have a hard time processing my own chickens, I take life very seriously and life as a gift from God. No animal should suffer, we must care for and be loving stewards of all that is given to us. This is why I could never be a animal hoarder. If I can not afford a vet, feed and house my animals I just will not have them. How most farm animals are treated is cruel. The American way of life, separated from our foods keeps the cruelty going on. WE, at BYC, know better, and I love that about the members of BYC.
All of my FARM Animals or my pets, I feel blessed & always tell my ladies thank you for my beautiful fresh eggs. But on the other hand if I had to I would process the meat & consume it. I would also give my horses to a good home than sell them to a bad one. But nothing is for sell here other than eggs for now!

BEE'S & WASP
I wish I could be lucky I have ground hornets! Those lil Bas***s pinch you while they sting you love to go for your hair. They feel the vibrations of the tractor & chase you. to kill the burn a fire when you find the entrance to the hive & there is more than 1 hole.
