"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

You had me till you saw the floating eye! I don't like my food looking back at me. In gumbo the only eyes are shrimp they don't look like eyeballs. You are a very interesting person. I couldn't leave my animals behind if I moved. I hope your able to bring yours when the time comes. Pam
I leave no animal behind. They are all coming.

Not sure about the bees. Not animal... Insect.

Thank you, I have been lucky, I am traveling the world from home. I jest do not get to see the sights. We have people here that miss their culture. Sometimes feel that their culture is less important. People actually are happy to share what they left behind. When they share, it helps some of them realize just how wonderful they are, and what they have brought to this country is of great value. One Pearson told me embracing their new home was so much easier. This is a country of emigrants. Only true Americans are the Indians. Their foods are under represented.

Look up Indian Pudding, I want to make 2 dishes of it some day, moderne and the Original. See the difference in taste. Pumpkin, cornmeal, a fat, possibly maple syrup, maybe not as refined and sweet, honey was unknown in this country. Bees are not native, the same with earth worms. Cows did not arrive for another few years the recipe was never written down and saved.

I'm very interested in american Indian culture. I had one friend who was saginaw tribe from up north in michigen. Her tribe wrote their history down in a book they sell it has 5000 years of their history. I've wanted to buy it one day I will. She ended up moving back her tribeis well off and gave her a house.

I have 3 other friends here that are indian but don't know much about their culture or history. one woman does she knows how to tan hide. Make dye with animal brains. she makes her living making beaded earings, braclets, leather and fur pouches she tanned herself and drums she makes their beautiful.

I feel there [your] culture is inportant and has a lot to teach us and its so interesting.
One of my friends is choctaw.from the tribe in mississippi he doesn't know much about them. I think its sad.

I'm glad you take your animals with you. thats my kind of peeps!! Hope your plans are going well.Pam

well Thats a hard call. If you move in winter they could make the trip. I don't know if they would in the other seasons. They have had a hard time with coloney colapse.

would be a shame to leave them your hive is very nice..wouldn't be cheap to replace. You know they ship them all over from east coast to west to pollenate crops then back again.
i watched a a documentry on it. Pam

Can you post pics of those /are you sure they are pullets? some EEs are hard to destinguish the sex for some time Ive had them  not show too much male signs till you here a bad noise that resembled a kazoo stuck in a bullfrogs throat or something of the kin, LOL 9mo EE should be laying actually they should be right at 6mo to come in. J/s

Terror in my heart at those words. Out of the first two one was a roo that I gave to a Layer. She since sent me photos and he is a beautiful bird. I went back to the Layer I got them from and got one more. I think they are pullets, but I'll go out and take fresh fotos and post. Those dang birds better be pullets!!!

X2 I think they said a 10% loss was acceptable. They wrapped the hives in something, I'll have to look it up. Bees are getting harder and harder to find in this country any that you can bring will help out in this state.

Jeff, here they are this morning. I know how old they are bec I've had them since they were fluffy butts. 9 months old on January 20.

PrimroseMom1, how is the Couch to 5K going? I had to delete the program and install again on my phone because I had downloaded a gazillion programs on my phone and my phone was about to stop working. Now I can't get my Pandora to play and I am SO MAD!

Do you remember which program you downloaded? If so, can you post the link or send me the information. I'm lost without all of my programs. :hit

I saw several Couch to 5K programs but I don't remember what mine looked like. :idunno

There is a Planet Fitness not far from my job that I think I will join. It's only $10.00 a month, so I think I will go there in the morning before work, work out, take a shower, get dressed and head to work. And if time allows, I will try to go after work (perhaps 2 - 3 times a week). This cold weather doesn't allow me outside to ride my bike or do any cardio and my body is feeling it. I need to get my heart pumping again. :/

I'm loving it. I'm 66 and my health insurer is part of Silver Sneakers which means I can join health clubs for free. I am current in three around my area so I can pop in just about any time. I do yoga Tuesday and Thursday at one and run Monday Wednesday and Friday at another. During Christmas and New Year's two weeks in a row one of the yoga classes was called off and I missed some of the runs, but I'm back on my schedule and it feels great. In my dreams I run effortlessly like flying, so when I run now I'm shooting for that feeling and yesterday I felt it for a few seconds. Lol. Week 4 is kind of a turning point week, it's a real step up, so I did week 3 three times until I was ready to move up. Yesterday I started week 4!!! Yea!! Yoga kicked my butt but yesterday I was able to hold the poses and breathe and not fall over. Yea!! I love it all. Thanks to YOU. It was you that got me going. What I really like about Couch to 5K is that I can repeat weeks if I'm not ready for it to get harder and really do it at my pace how I want to and I can listen to the music on my phone while the run program is on, the two work together. Also, I've been doing my running at the gym which I like for now. I'll check the link and send it to you. The site is at www.coolrunning.com. There is a link to download mobile app. It was $2.99. The best $2.99 I ever spent.

First...I am NO expert...not even a toddler. Lets see what the others say, but I think hens. Your blue looks just like my LouLou and she lays me a pretty blue egg very day. My girls were hatched April 8th. I think ours are the same age. Are you sure they aren't hiding them somewhere in the yard? Could someone be eating them? Hope the others will offer their suggestions.

They are definitely pullets maybe they will start up soon. Are those EE/hatchery americanas) or pure AM/Amerauacana? Hatchery EE are some of the best layers there are the AM should still be laying by 9 mo too tho. J/s
