"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

What am I? I am quite large, have a beard, feathered legs, and ear tuffs with red ear lobes. He was dropped off at my house. Another "aggressive" rooster from the people that I got my last one from. When I picked him up he laid his head on my shoulder and started talking to me. I don't know what leg color he has because they are bright red right now. In two treatments all I have to do is hold up a bottle of olive oil and he goes running inside to the bathtub for treatment so I'm thinking I was right about possible scaly leg mites. Either that or he really likes to be pet and talked to.
Not sure if this was answered or not but he looks like he could be a Barred Rock Rooster with the darker coloring on the tail feathers. He is handsome!

Good morning Peeps. I hope that everyone is having a great weekend. I wish it were Friday evening because I have run out of time in trying to catch up on animal chores. :hit Still so much to do. I will leave you all with a little quote by Confucius. Confucius say, "She who pace by bush too long, tell on broody self". That is all. :barnie
:lau THE EGGS ARE STARTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BAAAHHHAAAAA :gig
NOT FUNNY !!!!!!!!!

California Grey, or Holland, but probably a Barred Rock??

Perhaps some of the chicken experts who have experience can look at that handsome boy and give us more info. I have a Barred Rock Rooster that looks like him. But I an not an expert (far from being an expert) in the different breeds.

Maybe his pic should be posted in breeds where the experts are. I bet they will know.

I would say pullets as well.  Mine have all started laying from my August hatch?!  OR my Roos are already crowing...It is possible they are laying in a private hidden spot.  I have noticed that since I free range mine all day, the newbies NEVER use the hen box.  It's like the older ones scare them from it or something...  So I have to go find eggs every day.  After a while, I will just NOT let those hens out...and make them learn to use the hen boxes...had to do it for 2 years now...
Weird thing is, I been finding egg shells in my backyard...So i am wondering where they are laying I haven't found cause I think the dog is finding them.  He IS an egg sucker... and has no access to my hen boxes so I'm missing some 'secret' spot. Oh and it is seldom where I would think they would lay...  so look in weird spots..

Thanks. I searched the yard but couldn't find any eggs. But, 9 months old, there must be eggs. You are right, there are just too many places eggs could be vso, starting today they are confined to their coop for a couple of days. They have their own coop. Let's see if there are some eggs.
