Who all are the people that grow their own mealworms??? Mine are still doing really great. But I am curious what kind of tools people use to sort or sift out the bigger ones so they can be fed?
If you have ever considered raising them I can firmly say that it really is SUPER easy!!! My first batch of beetles still have about 20 that are still going strong. That fact does go against all that I had read. But maybe the conditions have just been to their liking. I suspect though that they will start dying off soon. I am going to pick out some of the bigger worms and let them change into beetles so we can have a fresh batch started. All my chickens and chicks know what the container looks like and come running. Of course there are some PIGGIES that I have to try to trick and distract once they have had enough so that some of the ones that are lower on the pecking order can get a few. It has been a real eye opener about saving $$ and still being able to give my girls some good treats.
