I can take cuttings. Been thinking of taking a ton of cuttings and trying to make them root have to do a bit of research bit have 3 large trees to try with :) when I do I can send you some

Oh I think I'm packed as full of trees as I can handle for now. I'm going to keep my ears open for someone that had figs that doesn't want the fruit. Thanks though!

Hi everyone I need some help solving a mystery. We have lost 7 birds to something so we keep trying to out think this critter, epic fail. This morning I went out to the tarp covered dog kennel and one of our WFBS was gone just a few feathers inside and outside the cage. The floor has patio stones no evidence of digging, tarp intact and in place. A few days ago we were processing some of our roos's when 2 eggers just disappeared right in daylight!

During processing while we were outside, these are 5 almost 6 month old chickens, so not tiny! No marks/tracks to give us a clue but night before last we saw a coon and a skunk, but again no tracks! I dont' have any funds to put up camera my German Shepard hears nothing last night .... This is crazy I'm putting out Ammonia but its been so wet here I cant even smell it. I don't have a clue how to keep my birds safe we got the kennel and have not lost one ROOSTER who was in it until last night, whatever it is has been taking my Eggers right out from under my nose and I need some advice.....

Please anyone ever have this type of experience? I was getting ready for eggs, so sad and mad. We have 6 of 11 girls left with 4 roosters Cuckoo (maran, who was supposed to be a hen), 2 WFBS, and 1 Blk/blue cochin left Stupid critter

Check youtube on layering the fig tree. I don't think the cuttings of different trees are shipping very good. I sent mulberry cuttings and received 3 different kinds of fruit trees and as far as I can tell none worked. At least we are going to try again with hard cuttings this late fall. Bummer

I would put hardware cloth around and over the whole pen, including the gate, top and sides, do not leave even the smallest of gaps in coverage.the preador sounds like a coon from experince, also set a live trap, could be a wild house cat,

can coons climb chain link? I'm attempting to put up some type of roof today, praying it will work Thanks for the reply TopDog, I also am inclined to think coon. But **** it came during the day with us in the yard at the time. All the kitties were in and we found remains at a pond about 600 yards from the house :( By remains I only found a few feathers and a piece of cartiliage from either the breast or back bone at the pond with foot prints of a coon. While I was gone this am he got another EE, Im so arrrrghcussing.

yes, a coon can climb glass i think and they are really crafty, slyer than most predators, minks are also, but they will wipe out the whole flock and maybe eat from 1 corcass.

Definitely can climb fences of all kinds as well as rip thru chicken wire. Finding remains near a body of water usually points to coon too. They like to be clean and wash up. My experience with coons wasn't one at a time tho. It was as many as thy can get and then only eating the necks/heads. But time of year could be a coon teaching its young to hunt so leaving some birds would make sense :(
I would set a trap too get rid of it before a whole new generation learns there's a buffet nearby. We used tuna. Worked like a charm.
