X3-Although I will admit, I'd be surprised if it stays onHere, here, let us all keep the power!
Girls will be in barn lockdown maybe tonight, definitely Sat/Sun/Mon a.m. to keep them out of mega wind chill. Haven't heard a thing from good 'ol ERCOT, but I wouldn't expect it. Stay safe!I get them occasionally. Nothing to worry about! If it happens more often that’s definitely a concern but the occasional mishap is ok. I like to squish them between my fingers. Oddly funCollected my eggs tonight and got a little surprise. One of the eggs does not appear to have a shell. The one on top is basically just the soft inner membrane.
FWIW, the flock gets a 50/50 mix of all flock and meat bird crumbles (no layer feed), and I supplement with egg shells and free feed oyster shells in its own feeder.
Anything to do here? Just chalk one up to my living 3d printers misfiring on an egg?

So far so good here. Some of our neighbors were without for a few hours last night. We are still getting rain but I think there is some sleet mixed in now.X3-Although I will admit, I'd be surprised if it stays on
It could be weather related stress, reproductive related to illness or aging, or just a one off. I wouldn't worry unless it keeps happening. If it does you could give her a dose of calcium a couple of times a week.Collected my eggs tonight and got a little surprise. One of the eggs does not appear to have a shell.
