"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hello everyone, I'm new to BYC , live on the West Bank of New Orleans and am thinking about hatching out a few eggs. I would like some wyandottes; if anyone knows about some local hatching eggs I would appreciate a point in the right direction. If no locals, maybe a tip on a good online seller/shipper would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

:welcome to the la-yers I have silver and gold but came from the feed store. Double D I know they have one in metarie. Pam

Good evening all,

As a courteous gesture and to give a heads up I thought I should post a follow-up to my attempts of trying to get in touch with Jeff Lay concerning the Buckeyes. I received an email from him, copy and pasted.

I do not have Buckeye chicks or eggs this time of year.

For 2015 I begin taking orders in mid December, I do not keep a waiting list.

Please check my website around December 15th for my 2015 updates, prices and ordering info.

Thanks for emailing me!

Regards,

Thanks for the heads up on the feed store in Metairie. I will call them and see if they have any sellers they can recommend. I will probably end up ordering some to hatch.

Thanks to everyone else for the welcomes. I look forward to using such a vast resource.

The feed stores don't have hatching eggs .See if thier is a breed thread on BYC they will point you to a good breeder. Pam

Hpoe your flock will be fine while your gone. Are they cured yet?
hope you have a great trip! Pam

Today they looked great! Most of the scabs are gone and my little black pullet finally opened her eye! I'm going to give them all a final once over in the morning. And I'm going to TOTALLY clean the coop and run so hopefully the chicken sitters can just rake a bit and throw down shavings as necessary. And if not... Well I'll have a lot of chicken baths in my future, I guess.
