My RIWs are looking better today. Poor Jenny is 90% pin feathers, it seems. I hate touching her because I'm sure it's uncomfortable. I'm giving them both 3/4 cc of Tylan 50 twice a day. They absolutely devoured their salmon and layer feed this morning. I've got vitamins and electrolytes in the water. They're isolated with a heat lamp. I weighed them this morning, right at 3 lbs each. They've always been a bit scrawny, but that just seems too light. I'll have to weigh a healthy one for comparison, I guess.

I have safeguard paste and sevin dust ordered so I can be sure that I'm really doing everything possible. Everyone else looks totally perfect, the very pictures of health.

I plugged my new bator in about midnight and let it run for over 18 hours, i spent about 2 hours getting the thermostat set at and holding 99.5/100 degrees, the therm. on the unit read 100.5/101 while the interior therm read perfectly, the hygrometer was reading about 33 the entire time with no water in trays, going to load it Mon.or Tues. with EE and RSL eggs for first hatch.

The chickens were acting squirrelly all day yesterday. They huddled on the porch a lot, and the rooster sounded his warning several times. One time he did I was one short at head count.

I finally found this one sleeping in the nest box. She eventually laid an egg. :yesss:

This morning on the way to school I saw the hawk perched at my neighbor's house, about half a mile up the road. I'm going to keep them up til the fog burns off, then I guess I'll spend the day in the yard.

EDIT: Well, there it is.
