It's been a long time since I've had a suspected chicken ailment, so I'm due.:

Anyway, it's hard to tell but my rooster's comb is dripping blood. He's had those black spots for a few months; I gave him a good look last week and they appear to be on his comb, and not a parasite. I've seen the hens picking them off (he didn't seem to mind) so I'm sure that's what happened today.

Thoughts?

Black spots are foul pox from Mosquitos . The blood if at the top of comb could be foul pox the black scabes are blood the comb bleeds and you get big thick black crusty bumps on the tip of the comb. If you catch it early when it looks like warts on the comb you can get rid of it fast. My natural healing save cleared it faster the neosporin. Pam

Haha, probably. They have sand in the run and they ALL ran out looking like that.

I don't think it's just dried blood. Here it is a few months ago, before they started picking it all the time.

See the white looking spots on his comb. I noticed when mine had it the combs of the ones that got it next had the white spots, then a wart , then full born dry pox when it would show up around the eye it would become wet pox. This time your not a hypochondriac. LMAO!

He's already had fowl pox. He's had those little spots before, during, and after. I thought they were the stock-tight fleas? But now I'm wondering if it's something fungal. I've googled and searched, but no luck.
