Yeah the babies got cold last night. I put in the wrong bulb and they spent the night with a red 100 watt bulb instead of a 250. When I discovered it this morning they were huddled up and quiet. I changed it out and within 5 min they were sprawled and sunning. Funniest ever. It was 43 in the rest of the storeroom and I don't know how much the 100 watt did, but it kept them going until I got there.Linda sweetie, been wondering where you've been. I hope all is well with you.
Your chickies been keeping you up at night. We've never seen pics of these mysterious babies you have.......tis.....tis.....tis.....![]()

Two hatched, and three pipping! Speculation on breed? I think the striped chick is EE/RIR, and the second may be pure RIR? Eggs were from an RIR, and roos are RIR, EE, and leghorn all free range together.
So cool Camping! Congratulations! Great pics. I'm sure more are on the way.![]()
Six have hatched! Two EE/RIR, three leghorn/RIR, and one RIR at my best guess. Three eggs left, no pips yet. Still, a 50% hatch isn't too bad!
Chick #1 (Pip) is a giant fatty who's already trying to eat everything. It came from an 86g egg. I'm hoping for a pullet.![]()
Pip and chick #2 (Rocket) on the right, chick #3 and almost chick #4. Rocket was under two hours from pip to hatch. Chick #3 was only half unzipped when it came out.
congrats....let me know when you want them eggs...I should be ready to go next month
