"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Well that was a short-lived success. It jumped right out, then the big chick dragged it around by the bandaid. So now it's contained a bit.

Edit to add: and straight back out of the cup. :/

We live in Opelousas and are getting ready to build our coop. Still deciding on a chicken breed but may get a few different ones. Bantams would probably work out best since they're smaller

Then we can get more of a variety lol I love the color eggs marans lay though. But, when asked which came first, the chicken or the egg, in backyard flocks, first should come the coop! XD

When you can't decide between two different breeds just do what we all do, buy them both and two more breeds just to be sure.

Like a sling, so its legs can hang down. Through the hobble, so it can't jump out. Still under the heat lamp. The basket is so it doesn't roll around (or off) the counter. Seems cozy. Right now it's keeping its legs pulled up, but hopefully they relax.

Glad you joined us La-yers! We are a fun bunch!

That is so cute! I doubt I would ever go to those lengths, but seeing a chick in a walker is pretty cute.

I know, right?! And she was totally serious and says that towards the end of summer it will probably be back up to the higher end again.

If I hatch everything I have coming right now, I will have tripled my flock numbers before spring even gets here.

These are my 3 cochin boys right now Big Fluffy, Big Red and Cal. Big Fluffy (blackish one) is king of the yard. I had these guys for sale as chicks but no one wanted them so I ended up keeping them and I'm glad I did, especially since I lost Yamcha.
