"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Hey Pam (or anyone else) can you remind me of the difference between Amerecaunas and EEs? The lady I got eggs from said she bought her birds as Amerecaunas but they turned out to be EEs. I've called my chicks EEs, but someone asked me today of they were real EEs or barnyard mixes, and I was just curious.

Hey guys. Just letting everyone know I am getting out of chickens for a while. Because of some unforeseen circumstances, I will be selling all of my six week old chicks. I have roughly 30 of them, consisting of layers, bantams, and ornamentals. Multiple OEGB, WCB Polish pair, 1 mottled houdan, 1 sicilian buttercup pullet, Columbian Rock pair ( I think), Phoenix, EE, Leghorns, 2 Cochins, fayoumi pair, and several shades of brown layers. If they have to be split, I can do that. But I would like to sell all of them as quick as possible. I hate to do this, but it has to be done. I was thinking 120 for all of them. Open to suggestions, comments, etc.

Thank you Linda. I will be back. I still have to take care of our 25 hen egg flock, located at my grandfathers. These babies were the beginnings of my new project, one I have been waiting to work on. One day i will begin again. But I just want to find them all good homes. And I left out a few breeds. If this gentleman doesn't come pick up the ones he wanted, I will have a trio of silver duckwing Yokohamas (2 might be male, I know for sure one is), along with some bantam Phoenix.

Amercaunas lay blue eggs. The come in a handful of colors. They have dark slate colored legs top and bottom of feet. They have muffs and ear tufts . Hope this helps Pam

Thanks Pam. I'll post pics of the chicks later. I did notice that they have dark legs, but they look greenish? Maybe it was just the light. I ended up with 32 chicks from my 50 eggs. The broody squished one chick and smothered one zipper. I had one chick get glued in, and three pip upside down and die. So 33 hatched, five pipped and died, 10 late quitters, 1 early quitter, and one clear. Does that make 50?

I'm up to 53 total chickens. Good thing 39 of them are in the bathroom.

I lined up a buyer for all 11 of the mixed roos, but one escaped this morning. So I drove BACK to Pineville with 10 rowdy boys. On the way home I stopped by Petrus and got a speckled sussex roo baby. :D

They are responding to antibiotics and poly vi sol, been isolated, they are not among the main flock of layers, i think the weather has something to do with it/ coop conditions have been poor due to excessive rain, the 2 showing signs have been removed to a remote area and are being monitored for change.
My 2 hens that were sick are fine now, poly vi sol, VetRX and amoxicilan for the lack of a better solution
