Do you guys warm your eggs before putting them in the bator? I think I'm going to sit mine on the porch, out of the sun, to warm them up just a bit.

Camping you want them to be room temp as long as your room isn't cold. The reason for doing this is so they don't form condensation in the bator when they start to warm up

My room temp is 68. I'm going to set them before I leave, so they only get to "warm" for an hour or so. I'm going to label them and load up!

Needing advice Louiisiana Peeps! I had a broody hen I just could not break so I decided to give her some eggs to hatch. She's been great and broody and then I get home a while ago and notice the egg door on the coop was open on the side she was brooding on. I went to investigate and she was not on her nest anymore but on one that was directly across the other side of the coop...on top of some other eggs but not the fertile ones I had gotten for her. I have no idea how long she was not on the fertile eggs. They were not warm anymore though. I gathered them and put them under her on the other side and removed the non fertile eggs. I'm guessing the fertile ones aren't any good anymore? Is there a way to tell at all? And why would she abandon her eggs (unless it had something to do with open door, which I don't know how that happened anyway)?

Hens get off their eggs all the time my incubator even has a cool down mode to mimic the hen. I wouldn't give up. If you have a bright flash light u can try candle them. If you see air cell an dark mass in them keep going. I'd keep going anyway I'm not the best candler. Pam
