"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Did u hatch her or buy her? I got a white chick out of my lastlegbar hatch. Thought I must have had a ee hen lay in the Legbar nest. She has gold colored chicks tho. I guess time will tell. I added the Jill Reese line to mine. If I listed all the breeds I have now your head would spin. Lol! Glad your doing well. If ever looking for rare breeds give me a shout I probably have them. Except for the rocks but the are from a top line. Pam
I hatched her from my leghorn hen and the CCL roo

Yep. I tried all directions. On the lighter eggs it is obvious that there is no egg cell, and I'm not sure what to do in this case.We had that really bad storm when they were laid, but they never got wet, so I'm at a loss as to why they don't have one.
It isn't your eggs, newly laid eggs dont really have air cells, the egg has got to age a couple days before the cell grows from moisture loss from evaporation, Drop your humidity to 30% for 5 days and candle again, looks like you are playing catchup on your humidity, oh, i can make out the air cell in the 2nd egg photo, it is about 1/2 the size of a thin dime, keep your humidity low, it is absolutely a fact you need to evaporate about 15 % of the water from the egg by day 18, everything you need to know about hatching is in this BYC thread, good luck and Happy hatching.

Thanks top dog. Someone mentioned dry hatching to me and I think I'll be trying that with these. I'm hoping I can get those air cells to form.

No, she is one of my hatchlings, the only crested roo or hen on my place is the roo i got from you, and the only white eggers i have are the leghorns and they were locked up with the cl hen when these eggs were fertilised by the roo, stil no luck with a successful hatch from the hen, going to try again when she goes back to laying

I have hatching eggs if you are going to keep breeding legbars. I know they are fertile and you would know weather its your hen or your bator. I've hatched them all the time. all my hens even her hatch mate lays almost everyday. They don't lay than stop like you describe. Pam

I've got a hen with vent gleet I think. I noticed dirty feathers and when I picked her up she stunk! Gave her a good soak and most everything came clean, but there are a few spots on the skin that did not and the vent area is swollen. Put her in sick bay last night with acv water. Been reading on treatments and will start those this morning. I have a pic post-bath if someone wants to verify what she has for me.
She is my sweetest by far. Will sit in my lap or in my arms for hours.

I have no experience with this but I have 2 white rocks in one coop that has thr dirty feathers. The cock is enthusiastic and they are bedraggled so I think I'll do the same for both. And move him for a couple of weeks.
I've still got a week left until hatch. Still doing the rehab thing. Two more weeks ang I ll be through. Getting tougher each week.

I have two of these. White with a black spot or two. They are called sapphires. DMRippy has them and they are super blue egg layers. Extra large white eggs with a tinge of blue. Every day layers. I like them a lot. That is how you make them. Both are crested.

I'm not sure the sex of the turkeys, and the silkies will hatch in a week or so. Want paying too much attention to when she went broody, i wasn't expecting so soon. But I'll show pictures when they hatch. I have black and white cockerels and a partridge and white poulets.
