"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Me too Lemon!! I am the LAST person to spring for the expensive stuff! i like to reuse pallets even, i get the good thick untreated ones, thru my Daddy, and i use also Untreated, dried out, grass clipping for bedding :D!
Had to do it though, the flys could cause too many issues if left uncheckd. So i am making it an actual budgeted expense LOL

So guess who decided to try being broody??

Turkey, our blue copper Marans in my profile picture. She is pretty young so I just gave her eggs that we would use for meat babies if she is successful. She is being so gentle and calm with us just like her usual self. It will be awesome if she keeps up that nice attitude!!! I've never had a large fowl truly go broody for me. She is such a sweet gal!

Good thinking! I've been pleasantly surprised at long the bottle I bought is lasting. I'm sure I won't need more than just the one for this summer. Even if it get damp from dew it still has been working for a few days.

I never liked marigolds until I grew one. It's gorgeous! It was the only survivor of a "wildflower" mix I threw out. I've collected several heads to save for seeds.

Indeed! Its lasting pretty well, im surprised at the effectivness in small amounts especially. i only put out very small amounts, i have 8 stations on our 1/2 acre, and i refresh them every 2-3 days, we have hardly seen a fly since i started. Over here, because we keep bunnies duckies and quail with platforms raising them up off the ground in areas, the flys had each of those bottom spaces to do their nasty thing :-/

An update on us:
My duck eggs are taking Too long For Me ;) i am almost ready to pull my hair out! Its my first hatch, on day 26! I read another thread on duck eggs, (probly my 100th...) they say up to 37 days! Im gna loose it by then, ill post pics once im bald!!!

My garden looks crazy. Tomatoes that were 8ft tall blew over the tops that were out the tops of the cages. Squash plants are DEAD, cucumbers are DEAD! I have started cleaning out beds and replanting what different things. Reseeded greens, Radish and more cucumber so far. Lots of nice hot peppers and eggplants this year. What I'm really excited to see about harvesting is the sweet potato towers!! Still awhile to wait though on those.

We made some Baba Ganoush last night with those eggplants in the picture. It was super easy to make and reminds me of Hummus. Going to make some flat bread and see how the kids like it. Crossing my fingers, lol!
