"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

:frow hello again! I give electrolytes to the chicks that i hatch, as well as probiotics, just for that extra lil boost. I read to do it on another thread on this site and i figure it cant hurt. I buy the lil packets of powder from TSC theyre 2$ for 3 packets. Each packet makes one gallon of one of the two substances, but you can mix the probiotics and elecrolytes also. Namebrand "sav-a-chik"

X2 but when they get sick I give honey water. Pam

All the remaining chicks are doing well with no sign of weakness. I gave electrolytes and vitamins in their water yesterday and today added the probiotics. Will keep that up for a little while and see how they do. Wish I had done it when I brought them home but it is a lesson learned. Thanks everyone for the ideas/input!

Hi Everyone,
I opened a bulk farm account with scratch and peck. Not sure of the price untill I get shipping cost. I want to know if anyone is intrested in any Organic feed? The more I buy the less cost per bag. So let me know if your intrested. Thanks Pam

How much water to how much honey? I like those natural remedies and i can find cheap local honey...

Wish i could help with the feed costs but organic is still a bit of a strech for me. I ment to tell you that i tried fermented feed with the normal pellets i buy, but it wasnt the ideal fermentation because it had the AVC or ACV (i forget) working against it :( i would be interested in fermenting again but hubby couldnt stand the reek, it was pretty sour.

I add a good tablespoon to 1/4 cup of water. Don't worry about the feed it will fly out my door. I never let mine reek. But have smelled it and I don't blam you husban. Schatch & peck has probiotics in it. So after overnight it has bubbles and sells like fresh bread dough. It stays that way for 3 days so I only make enough to last that long. Then I start a new batch.Birds love it no more stinky poop, no more wastwd feed. Pam

Does anyone know what this plant is, or where I could look to find out? It was growing at the edge of the pond. I was taking pics and stepped on some, and it smelled like citronella candles.

I lost a cockerel last night. Looked like he just fell off the roost and died. Wasn't a big deal cause his ticket was punched for the next culling but he wasn't fresh enough to eat after laying in the litter all night. I'm down to three Biele cockerels now. I'll bet the lowest man on the totem poll was happy this morning.
