I found homes for all the extra ones I had and 10 days later, a hawk took mine out. I am hoping that there's a roo in the straight run chicks I got but it's too early to tell. There's a guy at work that may have one, I'll ask him Thursday.

Ah heck, I stopped getting updates for this thread and gave away my Turken roo 2 days ago. He's a little guy though, maybe a month old. Ugly little thing. We named him Hambone.

I have been fighting the biggest hawk I have ever seen for about 30 days,
My chickens keep hiding in my carport.
I am used to migratory hawks hanging around for a few days a couple times a day but this one seems to have moved in. It's outside almost everytime I go outside.
I am not sure how I will put it up but I finally ordered a 50 X 50 of this netting.
About $130. Any suggestions for installing it?

Find some 8 ft t posts , go in the ground at least 1 ft that way u cab still walk under the net. Space them every 8-10’. Try to put a few intnhe middle too

A guy at work suggested using PVC to make arches. I can already tell that doing this is going to be a pain in the behind.
If I had any sense I'd learn to like store-bought eggs...

Yeah, Mr.Big-Ass Hawk already went into the enclosed grow out pen, once. It went in through the gapped door.
(I would use your usual plan except where I live -- too much traffic & people.)
