"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

So, who is looking forward to this rain we are to be getting this weekend? I was so happy everything is dried and nice out....my poor animals....all of them are starting to lay....(even the woodies...woooohooooo!!)..now I will have to tread in the slopping mud to take care of them...When is it going to end?!?!? LOL

Just when it started to dry out over here...

All the rain did prompt me to ask the neighbor to keep her dogs locked up so I could free range my chickens. They loved it, and when I got home from work all 28 of them followed me to the mail box and back to the coop for feeding time. Upgraded to automatic waterer in the coop as well, which will save me 15gal of hauling every other day. Now if I could only get their run to dry out

I am so sick of rain and mud this winter. I guess that was the only good thing about our freeze this past week was we were able to walk on the "Frozen mud", and not sink in!..

I just hope it dries up some this next month. My paint mare is due for her first foal, and I hate to think we are going to have to keep them locked in the stall because of the so mud.

Amen! will we EVER be able to walk across the back pasture without squishing OR crunching through ice?

I will say this: yesterday I found the true meaning of "luxury". "Luxury" is having running water in your barn again! (shallow pipe out there so my husband shut it down & disconnected all of my hoses. I have been hauling water in buckets filled from my bathtub out to the chickens and ducks).

Good luck with your foal! I miss having horses. One of these days....

Well, here we go with the rain again!! Now we must wear the rubber boots before we step off the back porch!! But at least it's not freezing cold outside and raining!!
