Anyone out there celebrate Mardi Gras? Well, I don't but many of my family and friends do.
The reason that I asked is because I wanted to know if anyone has ever been approached by someone who wanted to know if they could "borrow" one of your chickens for the "Mardi Gras Chicken Run"? Every year someone is always asking me. And by the time, I have given them the evil eye, and explained to them that I woud never think about putting my chickens through such an abusive, cruel and tortuous ordeal, I think they get the picture. How evil and cruel would I be to allow someone, ANYONE, borrow one of my beloved chickens so that a group of drunk people could chase this poor chicken to death???? I hope that I don't offend anyone who participates in this activity (and allows their chickens to participate) but all of the chicken runs that I have seen on TV are the ones with loud, obnoxious people with cans of beer in their hands, stumbling around. Maybe there are some chickens runs with sober people who chase chickens but it's just not my cup of tea. Again, I do not mean to offend anyone who participates in the Mardi Gras Chicken Run but to ask someone to borrow their chicken so that a group of people can run it in the ground is kinda insensitive. What are your thoughts?
