The only time I've ever had one get mean was this weekend when I took my broody from her babies! Now these babies were already 7 weeks old and she was SO PO'ed. First thing she did was start attacking the other girls then she chilled out a while. She stayed by that cage for a while trying to figure out where they were. I did feel really bad!!
Man I'm sorry to hear about your bator. Did you get it fixed??
There not mean at all to me or the kids. They are mean to the hens. i guess there are in full bloom? lol. They are pulling feathers like crazy on the hens. We will be thinning them out this weekend. Going to be making a stew with about 6 of them. Hopefully the free roo's I get for my order of baby peeps are no the orpingtons. I would ike to keep a couple roo's but would like some others. but who could complain when getting free roo's? I will post pics of my mutts when i get a chance. Oh and out of 83 eggs in 2 bators a big zero hatched. That was really disheartning.
