"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

I'll keep my fingers crossed on the eggs. Please let me know how they do as I haven't actually hatched any yet.

Also, on the Sebastopols, I may be making a road trip to Missouri to get more goslings to add to my gaggle of geese. I'm hoping to get some curly saddlebacks, and maybe some lavendars. I'm waiting to see what goslings hatch from her incubator. If anyone has a special interest please let me know. This lady bought some adult Sebastopols this past fall directly from Holderread, the rest of her flock are Holderread bloodlines as well, with the exception of one or two geese that she bought from Cottage Rose. Cottage Rose has a combination of bloodlines and her sebbies are some of the best to be found on the internet. I have an order with Cottage Rose for some saddlebacks and whites this spring.

Mike, I have some BLRW growing also. I may need to pick your brain some on the blue coloration. I know that the blues don't breed true. I'm not sure of the color on some of mine.

I've ordered 19 Exhibition Silver Laced Wyandottes and hope to get them in a few weeks.

My SLW are Ideal Hatchery stock and are not anything fancy. I have three hens that I plan to replace sometime in fall. I don't mind a trade. Do you have three roosters?

I got my Silver Sussex today. I ordered 10 -- the guy sent a few extras. I lost one so far, but I think I'll probably lose a couple more. A couple of them appear to be weak. Overall though, they're in good shape. All I need is a trio or quad to get a good start.

My list..., I get it done out of boredom. I entertain myself with the animals. For example, this week I had my male saddleback gander babysit my gosling in the backyard to protect her from my cats. He did a good job. It was quite funny to me. The gosling's name is "Gabby" because she doesn't shut up. She's just like a woman!

To me, tending the animals is great therapy. It's better than gambling, drinking, or hanging out in bars. The funny thing though is that it all costs the same.

My husband is busy with his job, and I've finished raising my two children (my son is 33, and my daughter is 29). I just have ME to take care of so I spend lots of time with the animals.

Kicked a snake! kicked a snake!!! OMG I just kicked a snake on the way to my shed!!!
I have some eggs from the second batch of eggs (Placed in the bator a week later) chirping now. They have one little hole and are both peeping away.

Bayoupoules -- picking mayhaws already! - I am sooo envious -- no mayhaws here yet. I think that's my favorite jelly of all!

and AmyLou-- Zucchini? mine are just now blooming! ya'll are way ahead of me!!

Gramby--good luck w/your curly geese -- Missouri's a long drive to make w/geese but hey-- they're worth it!

Paisaneaux -- you kicked a snake? or killed a snake? kicked a snake? I don't kick them suckers here unless they are King snakes; otherwise, they are "killed" snakes!!

I was walking in the dark and kicked it without knowing it was there. It slithered away, knocking over trees/shrubs and what-not....BLAH I'm so sick of snakes.

Zucchini? I just broke ground on my garden. Hope there's enough time to direct sow and still get a good crop or two.
