Twiley, have you started getting your coops built on your new property??
This week we had our "dog prison" built. I didn't get to see it yet but I'll see it tomorrow. We'll have to put the wire around it and then we'll move the dogs.
Haven't started chicken coops yet but it won't be too long. We have to do a little clearing first. May need to bring in a little dirt.

Twiley I have shipped and had shipped alot of adult and juvenile birds. Make real sure you get a dc# and try to pick them up as soon as they hit the PO. Hopefully they have put some lettuce or other moisture content in there with them even though they tell you not too
On the bird netting yes just kinda loose roll it and surround your pen . Its not fool proof but darn close,

I just moved 18 wild ducks,teal,mandarins and woodies, had to wait until after dark with the heat and their stress level so hoping like He77 nobody stresses out from it
Oh and for all you rain or even cloud getting folks heres mine

No, I was just thinking that if their not hatchlings then they don't have that yolk to substain them so they would have to be shipped overnight right?? I'm praying they make it to you safely.
I've never had birds shipped to me before.
The chicks I bought this spring were shipped when they were 2 - 3 weeks old. It took three days for me to get them. I lost a few but overall it was OK. It mostly depends on how well the shipper packages the chicks. If they package them with a heating pad, gro-gel, and extra fruit they can survive even though shipping is three days. On my Lavendar Orpingtons, I bought 10 and only lost 1.

On the gosling and ducks, I believe Cottage Rose will ship overnight. On her website she states that she ships overnight and she sells lots of goslings. Everyone wants her geese -- including me!! I had ordered four from her this spring but her hatch didn't turn out very well so she couldn't fill my order. So, I'm buying Muscovies from her instead. She usually doesn't ship Muscovies but is doing it for me because of the situation. I'm SO excited! I love her Muscovies, too. No, I was just thinking that if their not hatchlings then they don't have that yolk to substain them so they would have to be shipped overnight right?? I'm praying they make it to you safely.

I have about 8 Reeves I think. I'm pretty sure I saw another 3 or 4 pipping besides the 2 already out.I have some ringnecks due soon,and a couple dozen melanistics cooking.I had a few Red Goldens and Yellow Goldens in there,but I dont think I'm getting anything out of those.They should have been hatching about now too.

The splash gosling can be bred to a white goose or one of color depending on the color of the gander. Some colors are not recommended to mix. A splash gander X white goose = offspring would be white ganders, and solid colored goose (whatever color the gander is) and also some splash goslings. The colors are sexlinked and therefore are basically opposite that of the parents. Although, depending on the genetics behind the geese you can sometimes get additional colors, even saddlebacks sometimes if they both carry the saddleback gene. A solid white goose can be a saddleback carrier. Sometimes colors appear that are not expected due to recessive genes.
