I just don't even know what to say!!

What are all the symptoms with the animals?

They get pale, start losing weight, diarrhea, ruffled feathers and hunched back, lethargic, unsteady on their feet graduating to lying on the ground while eating, then they start turning away food, death. Pretty much in that order. Some of them leak clear fluid from their mouths, but I've only seen them do it when we caught them for swabbing and they were not totally upright so its like the fluid drained out. The turkey makes a sound like the suction thing at the dentists office. Whatever it is affects chickens, geese, turkeys, and my pygmy goat. The raised pen isnt affected and the ground run for the young turkeys isnt affected. Its almost like they're starving themselves to death. I had thought worms at first, but treated and no improvement and it still spread. I just put antibiotics in the water in hopes that it may be bacterial rather than viral. The fluid thing was just discovered today. I would say maybe respiratory, but the turkey got really thin before he started with the suction noise. Really, I have no clue what it is.

Warning warning warning! This post includes a graphic picture

If you know I lost a rooster to a beagle on Monday, and last night I left to go to eat and returned to find 2 more roosters gone! Or so I thought! He didn't get 3... He only got 2! When I got home he came walking out of the woods. He's missing most of his tail feathers, and he sure was hungry! But otherwise, he seems okay. I'm so happy!

This is him

Wow sorry to hear this, keep us posted as to what happens...

It's not the wet version of foul pox is it?

ALAS,

I am SO sorry! I can't begin to imagine what you must feel like. I can hardly handle when my neighbors lose a chicken. Thank God we haven't lost one yet...I can't imagine.

I'm in Covington also and my neighbor has mysteriously lost a few of her chickens recently. Well, I killed one that definitely had range paralysis (Marek's) and two have died since and they don't know why. I wonder if they had Marek's as well...they're all about 4 months old. Another one of my neighbors has had chickens just drop dead also. The common link is that they both purchased their chicks from Tractor Supply...if that has anything to do with anything.

I sure hope you find out fast and that it's something you can stop now and prevent in the future. My heart goes out to you.

Keep us posted.

I try to log in at least twice a day and I can't remember how many pages back I need to go to catch up in the conversation!!
