"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Thanks catdaddyfro, yea I would like to see a pick of your Kelso when u can. With a little care you'll get him looking good.

Steady rain most of the day at my house, I don't think I have ever spent this much time inside the house!

Looked all over the shop for my blue Marans roo. He finally let out an angry noise from under a styro cooler box. I guess he perched on it, and it flipped over catching him inside. He raised a lot of heck after I freed him.

Cadjien you need to submit that avatar pic for the "picture of the week" - beautiful!!!

We have had rain & wind all day but not exceptionallyl bad (knocking on wood)! about 6 inches of rain so far. The water had actually soaked in some until this last band but now it's back to mud boots to slosh around the yards. Birds have gotten tired of it & all inside eating their heads off (just had to fill up the feeder again)!

I got a pullet egg from the laying boxes this evening & have no idea who laid it -- had to be one of my crossbred supposed-to-be-olive-eggers but it was a pale tan. I have one I thought would be an olive-egger -a cross of my Ameracauna roo on an EE (Amercauana/Cochin) hen but that brown gene apparently dominated. Oh well, it's an egg- we'll take it!

Speaking of which, ham & eggs for supper tonight! Maybe tomorrow we can have a *real* Labor Day meal & grill some steaks on the pit!

Thank goodness he is ok. Glad you found him in time.

It was a very light box that he could have easily flipped it over again, I guess he just assumed that he was trapped
