victory in it's eyes

I have been reading and keeping up with everyone on the thread when my health permits me to sit at the computer,..and just wanted to say hey. Olivia has taken over in the chicken coop for me and has become quite the chicken whisperer,. I do get to feed treats now and then but that's about all ,.. so it's nice to see what you all are doing.
If my heart will let me,. I'm hoping to make it to the St Tammany parish fair,.. DH says he will get me a wheelchair and take me to see everything,. maybe some of you will be there?
Take care ya'll

I was laughing too -- my vet office people duck & run when they see me come through the door with a live trap & feral cat inside! But I will give them credit; they do what they can to help them.

Good to see you up & posting BayouPoules! hope you continue to improve.

Been the week from hell here w/taking care of my Mom & all, but she is a tiny bit better today -- listen, do not DO NOT ever take the flu and pneumonia vacs at the same time!! Her arm is finally looking normal but we are still battling the nausea & weakness from all of that. She will never take these vaccines again. Mom will be 80 on 11-11 this year. When she is 100%, I have a hard time keeping up with her. I hope that happens again soon.

I baked bread this morning & have chicken leg quarters boiling for chicken & dumplings tonight -- if that doesn't set Mom right, I don't know what will.

Have a good weekend all!!

We have a '52 Jaguar that's been sitting in our garage for a few years now that needs a total restoration. It was one of the 1st cars that could do 100 mph and has the 12 cylinder engine. It looks like a Rolls Royce. I can't imagine them being used as race cars. One of the days we hope to get around to restoring it.

St Tammany fair? When ?Where?Whoo? ..lol....

Julie.... I think I've met ur cat...lol...J/K... Maybe a very close relative.... We had an older gentlemen come in with this cat in a cardboard carrier. He said "it needs it shots and checkup.Don't open the box until I'm out of the room." He leaves the room.Paulette opens the box and kitty LITERALLY goes bouncing off the walls.I HAVE NEVER seen a cat climb slap across the ceiling!!!??!!!used the wallpaper for traction!!! Bounced off my head to paulettes head and to the next wall.30 minutes later we finally catch it and wrangle it down...lol... He says..I told ya not to open the box... Like how were we sposed to give him shots n junk if we didnt open the box?...lol... For KNOWN bad kitties,we had a squeeze cage.We could easily knock em out or vaccinate them then.

Hoping you feel better Bayoupoules....

Terri...has ur mom tried taking some regular aspirin? It's anti inflammatory really helps alot. We have used it for neurological inflammation as well as joint,etc...

Took the girls and my oldest boy fishing this morning. We had a visitor while out there.Got some pretty nice pictures and a video of him.I'll post when I get them loaded.....

Terri, what an ordeal! I hope your mom gets to feeling better soon. It's sad to see someone so spry get knocked down so quickly with something that is supposed to protect her. I get the flu shots every year too since I'm exposed to so many flu germs from my students. If I don't get the flu shot it's guaranteed that I'll get the flu.

One of your BIG beautiful roosters is feeling mighty full of himself lately. I guess the fall like weather has him "feeling his oats". This morning when I went out to feed and he attempted to jump me. We are about to tangle! I don't think he has a clue yet that he WILL lose.

One way or another we're going to settle this battle very soon.

Hey we are car people too! We have my Grandfather's original Ford 1930 Model A Sedan -- all original, still runs-- it has its' own garage next door at my folks' house. Daddy has kept it close to perfect all of these years.

Thank you all for your good wishes, Mom is doing much better tonight (it's my chicken & dumplings & homemade bread)!

I only have one Mom & she's pretty special to me. Dad too!

WhiskeyBay, she is taking aspirin, thank you for suggesting it -- the redness & swelling are almost gone tonight. Hopefully the nausea too-this has been a good day. She's lost 10 pounds this week - not a diet I'd recommend for anybody.

Twiley, sorry the roos are getting fiesty; I didn't think that breed was supposed to - but, I've never had roos not get fiesty after a certain amount of time no matter what the breed. My little Welsummer roo is starting to crow his head off & I am just wavering over whether I want to keep raising my own or -- send the extra roos to freezer camp & just keep a laying flock & replenish as needed at the feed store...

Is it bad to want a job so you can get a new bator & hatch a new breed?
