bhazell on your service line to your meter loop if it is burned up from the meter loop to transformer that's the power company' part to fix.
If its from the meter loop to your breaker panel that's on you.

Is your meter on the side of the house and tied directly into the breaker panel or on a pole a little ways out from the house, it is the electric company's place to repair the service line from the transformer to the meter loop, from the meter loop to the breaker panel is your side, is why I ask the second time around not trying to be monotonous just trying to be clear.

I know I'm confusing you most probly.

the main meter loop is where the meter reader would get the data on Kw/hrs numbers, am I making any sense or no?

Well I couldn't help it... I had a friend of mine (which I found out has been sandbagging here) want some chicks.. Sooo.. I pulled out the ole Hova, looked at all the eggs that I collected over the past few days, and just loaded that puppy up. I also, to my suprise, ordered some runner duck eggs. I don't know how that happened, and filled up the second Hova with runner duck eggs.. What's Wrong with me?


on the Electrical service.. You will have to replace the Meter box, and the feed before any service will hook to that. Back in the 60-70's that was acceptable, but in today's code, that meter base is no longer acceptable, as with the drop feed. Your best bet is to contact your electrical company and have them send an engineer out to look at what you have, and they will tell you what you need. And the best part, (at least for entergy) it won't cost you any thing to have the engineer come out.
