Good Monday morning everybody! We had a gentle rain all night -- actually have puddles outside! looks like ya'll down south are fixing to catch some more rain -
Good day to scrub floors and dust & vacuum the house. I'm rounding up spare paint so I can do a mural on the side of the peacocks' coop. Finally it's cooling off some so we can get some "fun" stuff done outside instead of just the basic necessities!
Have a good one everybody & look at the temps coming end of the week -- yahoo! we'll take 'em!
I don't want to see any more babies for at least 1 year. I need a rest. I tried counting all of my animals to get an accurate count being as though I have been selling my muscovys and I stopped at 300 animals.

I don't know about fun but I know with the cooler weather we'll be able to get some of the chores done we've been putting off with all this heat.
Yeah I did rough guesstiment last week on my total # of mouths to feed here and I too stopped at the rough number of 300
I know I over did it this past hatching season and now I am suffering the consequences from it with an overwhelming feed bill, but now that's its finally SUPPOSED to cool off some I might can get about 60 roosters butchered and put outta my misery and into my belly.
I've got to do some downsizing here 'cause my projects that I got from Kathyinmo back in the late winter are now starting up laying and to be able to move onto round 2 of the project I need more room as I have every nook and cranny stuffed full right now with something breathing and eating, somethings got to give here, fo' sho'.
My brother did put in an order for 6 pro-red pullets and his 4 Brn. Legrns I have had for him since the begining of spring and who knows WHENEVER this fall he's gonna make it down from Ark. to get them, so not a lot of immediate help there sorta just another pain in the derriere 'cause that means I'll have to hold onto them till he shows up. Got love those relatives, right, he is my little bro
. Im really trying to talk him into NEEDING more to take back with him whenever that may occur.
