"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

Gracie, do you remember the name of the farm that sells the registered sheep? I am changing out my ram and I think I will try to get a ram from that place . Let me know if you still remember the name. One of the babies is a male, so he will have to go as well.

Countryoakranch.com - rams go for $500-$700 there so be prepared!

They are definitely the best quality and size I've seen though!

Check out this add first though! http://lafayette.craigslist.org/grd/2890484468.html Looks like a great option!

Missi, did you decide what breed turkeys you want to get? This is what the Bourbon Reds look like. This is my crew. Turkeys are great to have. They are LOADS of entertainment!

Not yet!! I think we're going to get a few different breeds and see which ones we like the best!! Do you want to sell some eggs???

Good Morning Peeps!!

Hey there Missi and the rest of the La-yers/BYCers too

Boy I just got my vegetable garden tilled up for the first time this season just a day before the rain came man you talk about a mess its a bog hole now. I'm glad I got it though cause I know now it'll dry a little better between rains than it wouldn't have done with all the sod and WEEDs growing all over it. Looks as if I'll be putting in a late almost everything this year just in time for it to dry up and scorch it to the ground LOL got to try right?

We haven't even begun ours. Hubby wants to take up the raised beds and have just a reg garden. I told him as long as he helps me keep it up I'm game. We might try to work on it a bit tomorrow if it doesn't rain. Which that looks highly doubtful!!

So what's different about raising turkeys from chickens? Julie's birds are some nice looking, I keep going back to look at them. Lol!
Chris

Not much really. They say to raise the young turkeys and chicks separately to prevent blackhead, but we have never had an issue with it. Just like raising a chick, only you need more room! The turn into some BIG birds!
