"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

So sorry to hear about your grandparents. It's quite sad not having the older folks around.

Is the grey goose one of your offspring?

Thank you Twiley, and yes she is out of my curly white goose and smooth breasted splash gander. Just goes to show that you can't count out the smooths!

Hey guys how much do you think I could get for a 1yr old Americana and a 1yr old RIR that are laying great. I might also be willing to part with my brahma and another americana hen same age, laying great. They are super tame, hand raised, free range and beautiful. I am looking to get a silkie roo and so I thought I would sell a few of my hens to fit the bill. This is my brahma, Peep. This is the whole crew. I have more pics of them on my profile.

Julie I think mine were trying to do the same thing yesterday -- they weren't quite up to the full jungle scream -- but they were sure trying!!!

We might see little peas yet!

busy busy busy Monday - what a beautiful weekend it was & I finally got my garden planted yesterday evening!! cut way back this year as I will be busy with work & college refresher courses & can get a lot of stuff from our neighboring organic farm. I have 4 rows
- 12 tomatoes, a row of cucumbers and a row of canteloupe (never tried raising them before).

Gracie your goose is beautiful!

Well I'd better get back to it; this stack of paper isn't going to go anywhere unless I make it happen.

My goodness, I've missed a lot. Just catching up on the last week...busy, busy on my end.

Gracie - I'm very sorry for the loss of your grandparents. I lost my maternal grandmother 10 years ago and still find myself picking up the phone to call her.

Your springtime pics are beautiful and I love the little turkey poults! I hope you'll post updates on them.

I hope you are all dried out a bit by now, especially Mike! We still have a few wet spots, but nothing like that!

Karpadm76 - just wondering how your chicks are all doing. I use diatomaceous earth and haven't had problems with mites yet. I was having a problem with ants in the coop (hate those things!), but they disappeared as soon as I put down the d.e.

Twiley - I am very sad to hear about the ducklings! My sister-in-law lost 2 this weekend and has no idea why. They were in with a group of bantam chicks and the chicks are fine. So strange.

Welcome to Ann & BrodieG! You'll like it here!

I am gonna be there with bells on :) I think I will order hatching eggs tonight so I will have some chickies to sell, and I can bring a few of my big hens to sell.

Diatomaceous earth is the best!! I have the cleanest chicken coop around... it has virtually no smell. I also use it in my brood box in the house for fresh chicks :) <---- chick torture. Look how amused she is.

Well Sunday I started on my new coop for my 6 new babies that I picked up at TSC. Next weekend I should have all the walls up and painted, the next weekend it should have the siding on. The chicks will be 6 weeks old and ready to go outside in 3 more weeks!

So the power went off for about an hour... my poor babies were all snuggled up cold. I am gonna do some bidding tonight on hatching eggs, wish me luck!
