"Louisiana "La-yers" Peeps"

And kuntrygirl it was $8 at Petsmart!

Good mornin' La-yers and Bycers

Julie, Sprinkles post sorta got a chuckle, and most definitely a big grin outta me right off the bat this mornin' as no longer than she's been active here on the La-yers thread for just a few days now it seems as if she already got you pegged for the frugal/thrifty, penny squeezing miser that you are

LOL

If you get to where the overload of the turkeys is too much for you to handle or move on down the lane then let me know and I shall contact my brother about them, as he's been eyeballing those Bourbon reds of yours for some time now. Holler back at me.

Jeff

Please look forward to me contacting you about the Bourbon Reds. I can't handle all of this.

This is what my new girls is now setting on. :th

I'm doomed! :barnie

Thanks for the laugh today. That made my day. ;)

Terri, what size is your hydrometer that you bought from Wal Mart?
This is what I found on the WalMart site. Do you have any of these? What will fit in the Brinsea Eco 20?
http://www.walmart.com/search/searc...rometer&ic=16_0&Find=Find&search_constraint=0
What about this one?

Every hygrometer we found at Walmart was much too big for our Brinsea Mini Advance. We found the perfect sized hygrometer in the reptile/aquarium section at Petsmart. Super tiny.

Thank you very much for the information. I will go there this week to pick one up. :thumbsup

That price is definitely in my price range. As catdaddyfro has so graciously pointed out. I'm cheap, tight, frugal, thrifty, and everything else when it comes to spending money, so I think the coffee can outside buried under the pecan tree may just have $8.00 in it. :lau

Thanks again!

That looks like it would work. I have 2 little silver Accurite hygro-thermometers - they may not even make that model anymore, I've had them several years now. Mine have 2 wires coming out of them with probes. I have some water wigglers - those kids' toys - they're usually where the birthday party stuff is -- putting 1 probe inside of the wiggler simulates the temp inside of an egg, supposedly. I didn't even bother with it last time - I could tell the Brinsea was right on with the temps & humidity. I usually use plain old sponges & add or remove those if I need to adjust the humidity. Honestly I hardly had to fool w/the Brinsea at all - I mostly left it alone. I had to add water 2-3 times & that was all.

Gee I just remembered I need to go by the dollar store & pick up some shelf liner to put on the bottom! I used my last piece when I hatched the RIRs!

Sprinkles is right -- on 2nd thought that DOES look like it would be too big for the Brinsea. My old ones are smaller & thinner than that one.

Hey everybody I had a NICE start to my morning -- finally caught a big ol' possum that has been coming into my run at night! I knew something was going over the top of the fence & suspected either possum or coon so I've been setting my trap. No luck last couple of days, but yesterday evening I was walking around the outside of the run & noticed an old wild plum tree was starting to drop ripe (& wormy) plums. So I moved the trap under that tree & baited it with a nice can of oily sardines. Bingo! You should've seen how fat & glossy that sucker was. It has been eating well - including all of the sardines. I bid it a fond farewell with my .410.

You're welcome. Catdaddyfro that is too funny. My DH thought $8 was too high, but since we were already in Lake Charles, he agreed to get it.

Glad you that ol' possum. Was it going in the pea pen? Do you think it was eating the pea eggs?

Terri, I noticed one of the girls setting on the ground late last night (10:00 PM) near the area where they lay eggs. I wonder if she is wanting to go broody but has no eggs. Do any of your girls sleep on the ground?

Now if you would have said $8.99, then I would have thought that would have been a bit pricey. :lau
