Jeff

WOW!!!
That's some serious eye candy Jeff!!!

I agree, was hoping to get multi colored eggs, but I'm learning local chickens are hard if not impossible to find and online hatcheries are about the only option. I just didn't want to start out with to many. Will wait until I have the whole process down...

I am looking for Black Australorp chicks, do you have any pure chicks? i'm near lafayette and carencro.

I know a guy with a flock of young Australorps. I picked up two purebred roosters for him this summer. Once he starts getting eggs I will get a few dozen and hatch out. I'll let you know and if you're still looking we can get together.

I think La Mike is up in your part of the state -- he has some really nice Ameracaunas - a variety of other breeds as well - here's the link to his website

Hey guys! How it going?

After going back and forth with this the last few weeks....I've decided to sell all my Sizzles so that I can just work on the Heritage breeds I have. My wife is getting aggravated with all the coops so I told her that I would cut back some. I have about 20-25 chicks to sell right now all different colors and ages. Some I can sex and some I'm uncertain but I have both smooth and frizzled (you need one of each to breed them or a Sizzle and a Silkie). Actually, there's a few different ways to breed them but a Smooth Sizzle and a Frizzled Sizzle give you the best results (75% Frizzled). Whatever I don't sell in the next 2 weeks or so will be going to the next Swap in Covington on the 16th of next month and I don't plan on bringing anything back home from that sale even if it means giving them away. All my hens are spoken for so I just have the chicks available. Please PM me if your interested. I live in Covington and I'm not shipping anything in this heat so please keep this in mind if your looking to get any from me.

Some pics a few weeks old....

Thanks,
Chris

Cute chicks Chris!
Tell your friend we got the young peas moved yesterday evening so I'll get some pics today or tomorrow & put them up. I have a pair I think he'd really like -- or, if he wants just boys, can accomodate him there, too!

Well ya'll, looks like we may be battening the hatches for that storm - this morning looks like it's shifting more our direction. Be safe down there! I'm going to haul out my emergency checklist & see if I need anything.

hey Terri good mornin' and the rest of ya'll La-yers and BYCers.

Yeah I guess it would be a smart idea to break out the ol' generator and check it over really good and fire it up for a test run and not wait till it is needed just in case it needs any attention. I'd hate to be out there trying to overhaul the carburetor in a hurricane, LOL.

Thanks for the WOW and good comments Terri, I can't wait till I get them in my possession and see them up close and in person. LOL They are gonna be a great addition to my Buff-barred and Buff Columbian projects.

good day everbody
