Thank you! It is a very friendly and helpful community. I accidentally came upon this site multiple times when I started raising chickens. Now that I have more actual experience, I hope I can help someone that’s experiencing what I have with my chickens and share cool stories about our wonderful feathered friends.😊

Thank you. I do enjoy them very much. I have a busy outpatient practice so I’m not always home but I’m under the weather this week so I get to spend more quality time with them. They are a joy to my life and have a calming effect on me. I have a hard time relaxing and I find the opposite is true when I’m with my birds.😊👍

The public places cannot provide this quality of food for us to eat. Nor do they care to. In the state of this country and the globe, I think it’s smart to put our emotions aside and get down to brass tacks. We may not survive if we aren’t self sufficient. It seems those in power want us to fail. Having said that, I personally have to learn to toughen up a bit and see what needs to happen within me so that I can survive what’s to come. I’m working on it. I also grow as many of my own veggies as I can. Veggies in the stores have zero minerals having been harvested too soon. So, although growing your own takes time and commitment whether it be meat or veggies, in my opinion it’s the only way to go if you have the means.

You are so right. I believe if I don’t see it killed I can toughen up n eat it . I am thinking like you , we need to become more self sufficient because things are headed to worse not better. I don’t me to sound dumb but how does the plucker work. Don’t mean to sound morbid but how does the whole process work.
I’m far from squimish, I worked for hospice many years. I’m just tender hearted . I do believe God has gave us ways to feed ourselves and if you kill an animal for food it is fine as long as it’s done in a humane way. Thanks I advance for any guidance you can pass along
