Are Lovebirds messy?
theres no getting around it ALL birds are messy, feed them seed youll have shells all over the place...feed them a pellet based food and youll have foos soup in their water bowl on a regular basis and crumbs/dust everywhere...
all birds also poop oviously and training them to potty on command is doable usually but still there not like cats wont use a litter box and there wil be more than one occasion that youll be pooped on the floor will be pooped on, or theyll somehow manage to poop through the cage bars lol
Would one girl be loud?
loud YES absolutly...however how loud is personal opinion...personaly i could NEVER own a lovebird...their call is a high itched cheep and while not all the frequent if the bird is given enough attention its increidbly loud for a little bird and the pitch just makes my head want to explode (and i have a macaw so i know loud)...they tend to cheep alot even if out of the cage all the time (its their way of communicating, most of these little mosises are fine and apartment frinedly, but when they get that good call going...personaly i wouldnt suggest lovvies if your sensitive to loud higher pitches or share a wall with your neigbors (in these cases id look into linneolated parakeets and parrotlets instead)
Are they very agressive?
this will 110% depend on the individual bird...ive met lovebirds who love everyone, ive met lovebirds who only love one or 2 people and bite everyone else and ive met lovebirds who hate humans as a whole...and when they bite (and even if they love you ALL birds bite) they are like pirannah...that beak is suprosingly sharp and suprisingly strong and quite honestly ive had small birds like lovies draw more blood than larger birds like macaws...macaws can do more damage overall in terms of pressure, but that little tiny beak...less of a surface area at the tip and therefore much more likely to peice the skin with less pressure.
get a hand fed baby, and spend alot of time every day with it and you should be fine...but all birds will bite at some point (its how birds communicate things, a frightend bird would nip at its flock mates to get them to move away from danger, ect...) and all birds will go through a period where they will hate even their best buddy, its called puberty and we all go through it..birds just tend to be hit a little harder in terms of mood swings than most.
Is the clicker method of training the best way to make them friendly?
best way to make them "frinedly" is to find a good breeder and get a well raised well soclized hand fed young bird whos been abundance weaned (never buy a parrot of any kind form a pet store they are often weaned much too young and quickly and studies now show this unnatural way of weaning is very detrimental to the long term health and the personality of the bird) and spend ALOT of time with it...lovvies bond incredibly strongly with their choosen flock/partner/family and CAN and DO suffer form seperation anxiety (all birds do to some extent but lovvies are highly prone to it) and when there upset birds act out like toddlers...
clicker training is however a very good way to train your bird "tricks" they dont have to be fancy tricks but things like lifitng the wing, stepping up ect.
parrots are smart, they respond quite well to clicker training as a marker for good behaviour
Do they fly around in their cage a lot if I took theem out often and played with them?
even if the bird was out from the time you woke up to the time you whent to bed it would still need a relitivly large cage with plenty of toys, ive never had a lovvie as a pet but belive there more climb around than fly around type birds....
if i rememer my reading right (and it has been a little while) i belive they need a mimimum of a 30x18x18 cage...most cages sold as "lovebird" or parakeet cages are too small for the birds their marketed for so dont just go off the lable...theres LOTS of info for cage size mins online but with all birds, bigger is always better!
Are they a one-person bird?
most lovvies ive ever delt with are...ive had people tell me they can bond nicely with multiple people but in my experience they tend to form a strong bond with one person (usually the person that spends the most time with them on a regular basis but sometimes itll be the person who doesnt like birds, or the one who didnt want the bird ect...).
