We got rid of our rooster. I didn't like his unpredictability. I was always on guard in the run, even had to bring a rake in with me once, after he flew up at me. My chickens don't free range unless I am around so protection wasn't really an issue. I was also concerned for my kid who I would have bring fresh water or collect eggs while I was at work. It is very nice and peaceful now. I can hang out with the girls again.
