Hello- We are near Peoria, IL and my family is new to chickens (and to this site). I'm a stay home mom with 4 kids under the age of 11yrs. We were thrilled to move to the country 2 yrs ago and are trying to make the most of our space! My oldest daughter has 6 Mini-Rex rabbits that she shows for 4-H. My son decided to try chickens for 4-H as well...It's been all I can do not to shove him out of the way with them. They are 5 weeks old and include 2 buff orps, 2 black orps, 2 buckeyes, 2 easter eggers, 1 black copper maran, and one salmon faverolle rooster. I'm really looking forward to having a place to research and a community to ask questions!
