Loving my Chickens

Hi.. I am excited i got 4 hens around easter time..I got my first green egg yesterday and it was itty bitty...Today I got the same one..same color and size..could two of my hens be laying green eggs..Sorry I dont know what breed all of them are..and should the eggs become bigger as time goes on? thanks for any input

If the hens are still young they probably might have little eggs, but when they are 1 to 2 their eggs might be bigger. It sounds like you have an Easter Egger chicken (EE)

Congrats, and I'm new to chicken keeping myself. You must have easter egger pullets laying those. (Americaunas or auracanas or a mix) When they first lay the eggs can be small from what I've read. Unless they are bantams, then the eggs are always small. Congrats on your first eggs again.

Yes your eggs will get bigger

They all could lay green eggs....
Hard to tell if you dont know the breed...
Maybe they are americana or easter egger Hens? They lay blue, green and olive color eggs...

Hi and welcome.

Egg size depends on the breed of your chickens. I would recommend asking the person you got the chickens from what breed they are. If you cant ask the person for what ever reason, post several clear pics of them from different angles and we can try to give you an idea of the breed. I know that it can feel silly to call and ask about the type of chicken, but when your here on these forums asking about a serious problem, the breed can make a big difference in our advice.

Ok I called the person who I got the chickens from..She said she knows that the father was ameraucana..And that the mothers were a mixed feature breed from the store tractor suppy..but she cant remember the name...
