Hello, all!

I am a special education teacher and Incubated eggs for my disabled students for the first time. wow! What an experience for them and me! I gave the chicks to local chicken farmers and decided to keep 2 for myself! Once you name them, you got to claim them, right? Lol. I live on a small horse farm in the country. My husband is excited about building a coop next week and my 10 year old son is having a ball helping me take care of them inside and watching them grow....quickly! I look forward to learning and sharing new information and experiences with my 2 little girls......(Ruby and Sophie.....). I researched different sexing techniques, and old wives's tales.....let's hope their names don't need to change, lol. The eggs came from a local farmer with different breeds of chickens...... The eggs were all different colors and sizes. Some of the eggs were blue, white, dark brown and light brown. I can't wait til they get their adult feathers.....I will need help deciphering their breeds! :).
