Loving this feeder from premier 1

similar principle on the homemade no-mess feeders, but more birds can get to it. Pretty flock Gina!

works well for me! Best wishes for what ever you decide.
Oh yeah I had seen the plans for those before as well but considering the PVC glue alone with primer is 10 smackaronies, then source the 5 gallon bucket and drive to home depot for the parts....20 bucks just seems less expensive. And actually wanna know why I know this? My wife was helping me with the coop 2 days ago and she threw a piece of lumber at my above ground irrigation lines so we had a small flood. I found out that the valve where the water goes into the house is non functional. Then when I went streetside to hit that shutoff valve found it buried under 10 inches of dirt. 10 minutes of digging later and the valve was able to be shut off. Then of course my nearest Home Depot is 20 miles away and in Brownsville Traffic where nobody reads speed limit signs so that is like 35(city boy) miles each way in 4:30 traffic. Long story short I didn't accomplish much on the coop that day. But I did learn to be more thankful for her help after being a peevish hubby about it. I now thank her for her help after each teensy project as I was a bit of an ass. Also the coop only gets to have one or two small modification(s) per day now(my rule).

I didn't use PVC glue. Friction fit.

I did buy a $30 3-1/4" hole saw, so don't listen to me. The first, 6 hole feeder cost me $50. Hole saw + 6 PVC elbows with a free bucket. So, the second will cost closer to $30.
I'm planning on making a lot of feeders.

I've found a slight variation I want to try which will be cheaper? Still analyzing. But I plan on making me another feeder and 2 for brother. Am I close yet?:yesss:

Should ask him to provide materials, freeloaders probably using your stock cause you stopped giving him eggs, or did he ask you why you don't like him making the eggs cost $20/doz?

LOL - long story. He set up homesteading after 20 years in the Air Force. Disabled vet with 7 kids and spotty work. Finally got on contract position and bought dream farm. Being a bureaucrat, let's just say he is learning a new skill set.

Well, if he can do chickens, I need to learn too. Of course, I sit on the computer and read while he is raising kids. I'm an internet expert!!! I'm helping him out with a few things. I keep threatening the wife with retiring and moving in with them. She is all for it. :smack

We are planning a rooster harvest in December. Cheers!

I understand the cost issues. Don't have extra to throw around with girls in college.

Real easy to put together. get the right size hole saw for the PVC you buy or use what you have and whittle it out. Utube videos give step by step guidance. I think I watched a dozen different ways to make it. I put mine under a roof, so didn't have to worry about feed getting wet. Caulking will seal everything

I do dump the crumbs out in the feed pan every other feed bag to keep it all fresh. Lots of hidey holes to let feed get old. Dumped on wet food (strawberry tops) the girls gobble it all down.

Cheers - if you build one, let us know how it turns out.
