Lowes playhouse 4x4 "My Little Playhouse" Kankakee Illinois $149!

I used a sheet of ULX exterior grade plywood 4 x 4 sheet for floor. Anyone have pics of how they did their windows? My house is going to be for my one-legged hen and her friend. I know someone on here had lost the directions, I have mine and can send them to whoever needs them. All I can say about the instructions is the 90 minutes or less assembly time is multiplied by 3 at least if you want to do a good square job, and you need more screws and stronger nails for the roof (trim nails won't hold up for long and will work their way out). Very cute house for the price though! I love it!

Ok, I'm still in the middle of Michigan and can't find this playhouse or the other one at Lowe's anywhere-- and can't find online ordering for it-- is it just impossible to get one if your store doesn't carry it? none of the Lowe's for an hour around us have them either-- is it possible to get it shipped from a Lowe's that does have to our Lowe's for pickup?
this is frustrating to see all of you getting them for $149 !!

Sam's Club does have a playhouse called the Woodridge for $399 delivered-- 6'x5'x6'-- hmm, tempting but I'll still look around-- not sure how many chickens would fit inside it -- maybe I just have to 'man up' and build a chicken house or two from scratch

Revelu,

The size given for the coop includes the 'porch'. The true inside dimensions are less than 4'x4'.

revelu- I purchase the Lowe's coop back in April from a store just outside of Flint. I had checked on line and all the stores in my area did not carry them. I just happened to walk through and there was the floor model all put together. The cashier said she sold the last boxed one that morning to a lady who was going to use it as a dog house. I got it for $199.
Moral of the story- you got to do some leg work- don't trust the info on Lowe's web sites.

darn there were some in michigan then haha I was looking online as well and didn't see any online. I already started building my own coop though.

By the time you put one of these things together you could make your own post building.

Get 4 posts (4x4s)
and 4 sheets of exterior grade plywood to start

Just nail or screw the 4 sheets of plywood to the posts at the 4 corners to make a box. Then nail another sheet on top for a roof! It's child's play.

Don't forget to cut out for a window and door. You can use the same wood you cut out for the door for the door itself. Just screw some hinges on to put it back in place. Then just paint it and staple hardware wire over the window opening. Just a simple box with posts inside the corners for stability.... then decorate it.

You have to do all of this anyhow with these kits in order to put it together.

PS Instead of using regular plywood you could buy exterior T 1-11 board instead. It just looks fancy like siding. Add some cedar stain or a pretty color paint to your box and you've got a pretty building.

See how I nailed together a simple box on my own and cut out a door and reattached it with hinges.

I am just lacking a flower box and roof shingles. Be creative with your box, paint and door.
