hi,i cannot get gamebird pellets here in CA
    are crumbles the same?
my peacocks eat cracked corn and poultry pellets, and they will not eat scratch mix!
are they ok with this diet?,or should i try to include game bird crumbles?

I would mix in some crumbles. I heard that it is better to feed whole corn instead of cracked corn.

Feeding corn will only make them fat and unhealthy. It is only about 8% protien and just a filled. They need a diet of about 20%. Scratch is only junk food and should be only given as a treat to any bird. If all you can get is gamebird crumbles, then mix it with the poultry layer in a way you can come up with about 20%.

I use an awful lot of gamebird feed in my custom mixes and I can't seem to find any pellets either, I hate crumbles because of the waste, it's something I just live with.

Quote:Yeah I used to feed my peafowl corn sometimes as a treat. They HATE cracked corn for some reason. They won't touch it. They do go for the whole corn though but still only one of them really ate it so I stopped giving it to them.
