Had a hawk try to get our chickens twice today. Finally put them up after the second attempt. First time we have had an issue like this since we got them over a year ago.
Luckily everyone is well!

You better not let them free range for awhile because the hawk will be back and likely score when you least expect it. Lessons learned the hard way, Good luck.

We heard it again this morning. Supervising them and most likely putting them back up in the run. They just hate being locked up though! They have the whole other side of the yard which is wooded, more brush, etc and where their run is.

Thanks for the advice.

I have a couple of bird baths. One is shallow and the other one is deeper. This morning there was a Red-Tailed hawk taking a bath in the deeper one. I have been seeing a couple of them most days lately. This was taken one winter morning when the bird baths had frozen.

Luckily it's been raining the last 2 days so felt more comfortable letting them out. So far no problems!
