I noticed this on my chickens legs tonight when I went to check on them. It’s about 10 degrees outside, she has them on both legs. The other chickens look like they are starting to get it too…. Any idea what it could be and what I can do to help them?! She seems bothered when I touch it 😭😭

I noticed this on my chickens legs about a week ago. It has grown in the last week, it’s on both her legs in the same spot and none of my other chickens have it. She’s about a year and 7 months old… please help!!!

She has spurs. No problems but you may have to trim them if they get too long.

If it's the part I circled, that's a spur, and some hens can develop them. It's perfectly normal. Roosters have them, but they are much larger.
Thank you! I thought if it was spurs it would’ve started when she was younger! I didn’t know anyone replied to this post so I created another one- it grew in the last week so I was getting more concerned and it seems everyone thinks it’s spurs. My sil thought it was scaly leg mites so was a bit worried!

I agree, spur nub. Some hens may just have a flat dot that never develops into spurs, some will develop full spurs, like a rooster.
thank you! Yes my other hens have just a small dot but hers just randomly showed up out of nowhere. I thought she was too old to grow spurs 🤦🏻‍♀️ thank you for your help!
