Lump the size of a golf ball under wing. Help needed please!

My dd's favourite hen hd been acting weird a few days ago, so dd picks her up, nd cehcks her out. she lifted up her one wing, and the hen was ll purple--bruised looking. We put her in isolation, and kept montitoring her. well, the purple colour is gone, but she has a HUGe lump under her wing. Upon close inspection, there does appear to be a scab on it. the lump is hard.

She is eating and drinking fine, but hasn't laid an egg in three days.

I wonder if it's a parasite that's burrowed in? Can you get a picture & post it? That would be most helpful. Hope she's okay!

More than likely an abscess. Use hot compresses of water & epsom salt to see if it opens.
