Chicken feed is best for him. You could try soaking the pellets for a few minutes to make a wet mash, or use some crumbles. The egg is a good thing, as well as the probiotics.

Oh the food soaking is a good idea not sure why I didn’t think of that. Will definitely give it a try, thank you. Can we try squirting some on his tongue If he won’t eat it on his own? He’s acting pretty normal still and acting like a stubborn, picky rooster

You could place a small bit into his beak to see if he will swallow it. Be careful though, to not cause him to choke. I prefer holding a small lid or cup up to the beak to let them take it on their own. Roosters are harder to handle though.

I agree, even though he’s a bantam he’s definitely hard to handle. He’s very indignant about this whole thing and mostly refuses to cooperate lol. I will try to get him to eat the food though.

Any other healthy treat ideas?

Tuna, salmon, canned cat food pate, or sunflower kernels in moderation. Feed is best since it is balanced.
